6 more Pinoys overseas get COVID-19 —DFA
The Department of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday reported six new cases of COVID-19 among Filipinos overseas, pushing the total tally to 20,916.
Latest data from the DFA showed that total recoveries rose by three to 12,381, while the death toll remained at 1,243.
So far, there are 7,292 patients undergoing treatment for the disease.
The Middle East/Africa still has the highest number of COVID-19-positive Filipinos abroad at 11,861, including 6,504 recoveries and 836 fatalities.
The Asia Pacific Region followed with 4,515 cases including 2,766 recoveries and 33 deaths.
In Europe, a total of 3,554 cases have been recorded, 130 of which have died and 2,484 have recovered.
In the Americas, 986 Filipinos have been infected with the respiratory illness. A total of 627 people have recovered, while 244 have died. — Ma. Angelica Garcia/BM, GMA News
