OFW gets back lost cash at Laguindingan airport after honest CAAP employee returned it

An overseas Filipino worker who arrived from Saudi Arabia on Sunday lost her hard-earned cash at the Laguindingan International Airport in Misamis Oriental but got it back after an honest employee returned it.

The OFW, a domestic helper who arrived from Riyadh on April 17 via a flight facilitated by the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, lost 40 pieces of 500 Saudi riyal amounting to around P280,000, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines said in a post on Facebook on Tuesday.

The cash was found by CAAP employee Merraflor Simbre, a facility cleaner, at the restroom of the airport's Passenger Terminal Building Arrival Area.

Simbre turned over the cash to the airport office, and the OFW was able to claim the same.

CAAP lauded Simbre for her honest service. —KG, GMA News
