25 more Filipinos repatriated from Israel

The third batch of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) affected by the war between Israel and Hamas militants have arrived in the Philippines on Monday afternoon.

The recent batch of repatriates from Israel was composed of 17 caregivers and eight hotel workers, based on a dzBB report of Nimfa Ravelo.

Upon arrival at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3, they were briefed by personnel from the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), and Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

The OFWs will be receiving financial assistance worth P50,000 from DMW, and another P50,000 from OWWA.

While in Israel, the DMW and DFA said the Philippine government paid for the affected OFWs’ accommodation, food, legal service, and transportation expenses before they were repatriated.

The first batch of repatriates, composed of 15 caregivers, one hotel worker, and a one-month-old infant, arrived in the country on October 18.

Meanwhile, the second batch of 18 individuals consisting of 14 caregivers and four hotel employees were repatriated on October 20. — RSJ, GMA Integrated News
