Pinoy suspect Korey Farinas nabbed in Hawaii after stray bullet victim dies

NEW YORK - A 21-year-old Filipino was arrested by authorities in Hawaii after a statewide manhunt following the tragic killing of a 64-year-old bystander.

The suspect was identified as Korey Farinas.

The victim, Andrew Quisquirin, lost his life due to a stray bullet allegedly fired by Farinas following a dispute at a drug store, Honolulu Police investigation showed.

The incident occurred after 11 p.m. on January 20. Honolulu Police patrol officers responded to a report of an argument at the Longs Drugs store in Waianae.

Police arrived at the drugstore and discovered that two groups involved in the altercation left in separate vehicles.

The second group followed the first, and a passenger from the second group allegedly fired multiple rounds at the first group's vehicle.

Both groups then fled towards Makaha on Farrington Highway.

The victim was standing on his driveway and became a victim of a stray bullet fired during the incident. He died on the spot.

Initially considered armed and dangerous, Farinas evaded authorities for several days before his eventual capture.
