Filipino woman killed in Las Vegas accident; husband hurt

NEW YORK — A Filipino woman was killed while her husband was injured when a motorcycle slammed into their car in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Monday, January 29 (US time).

The Clark County Coroner's office identified the fatality as Maria Estillore, 64 years old. She was declared dead at the scene while her husband was rushed to University Medical Center where he is currently being observed by doctors.

The motorcycle driver, identified as Kenny Chan, aged 19, also died at the scene of the accident.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police District (LVMPD), the Estillore couple's car was turning left onto Spring Valley Parkway on Rainbow Boulevard when it was struck by the motorcycle driven by Chan.

Estillore, who was the passenger of the car, suffered blunt force injuries.

Friends and family of the couple held a prayer vigil at the site of the accident. 

Based on the data from LVMPD, the two fatalities are the 17th and 18th traffic-related fatalities in the Las Vegas metro for 2024. —KBK, GMA Integrated News
