Landbank launches GoBayani digital deposit account for Pinoys abroad

State-run Land Bank of the Philippines on Tuesday announced the launching of a digital deposit account for Filipinos abroad and overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).

In a news release, Landbank said its new GoBayani savings account is a digital deposit account that gives Filipinos abroad access to its digital banking services and online transactions, such as sending money to their families via fund transfer.

The bank said account holders of GoBayani can also perform e-commerce transactions and receive remittance via Visa Direct through Visa partners abroad.

Landbank said GoBayani users can also digitally pay bills and other dues such as monthly contributions to Pag-Ibig Fund, Social Security System (SSS), and PhilHealth.

The state-run lender said it will promote the GoBayani account this month by visiting Filipinos in the United Arab Emirates, Japan, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.

Landbank said overseas Filipinos can open a GoBayani savings account with no initial deposit and maintaining balance via their smartphones within minutes, through the account opening feature of the Landbank mobile banking app.

Aside from GoBayani, the bank said customers can also open a Landbank Piso Plus basic deposit account and a regular Landbank Visa debit account through the mobile banking app. — Ted Cordero/BM, GMA Integrated News
