OFWs honored for ‘unparalleled sacrifice’ at Palace concert event

Marcos honors OFWs for ‘unparalleled sacrifice’

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. on Sunday vowed to protect and care for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their families as they were honored at the Konsyerto sa Palasyo on Sunday.

“Kayo ang patunay na ang mga Pilipino ay kayang-kayang makipagsabayan sa ibang lahi saan mang sulok ng mundo, dahil sa inyong disiplina, tapang, at malasakit sa bayan,” Marcos said in a video message.

(You are proof that Filipinos can compete with other races across the world, because of your discipline, courage, and concern for the nation.)

“Makakaasa kayo na laging nandidito ang pamahalaan upang protektahan, alagaan, at itaguyod ang kapakanan ninyo at ng mga pamilya ninyo,” he added.

(You can trust that the government is always here to protect, care for, and promote your welfare and your families.)

The fourth installment of the Konsyerto sa Palasyo featured Rap Cañedo, Marielle Montellano, Chito Ricafrenz, Winchester Lopez, musicians from the KSP Band, and performers from Primedance Manila.

Former The CompanY singer Reuben Laurente also performed on stage.

“Ito ay simbolo ng aming taos-pusong pasasalamat at pagsaludo sa inyong di matatawarang sakripisyo at dedikasyon upang mapabuti ang inyong pamilya, komunidad, at bansa,” Marcos said.

(This is a symbol of our sincere gratitude and salute to your unparalleled sacrifice and dedication to improve the life of your family, community, and country.)

“Isa kayo sa mga dahilan sa pag-unlad ng ating bayan. Patuloy ninyong ipinapamana sa mundo ang likas na galing, tatag, at sipag ng lahing Pilipino,” he added.

(You are one of the reasons for the progress of our nation. You continue to pass on to the world the innate talent, resilience, and hard work of the Filipino people.)

Members of the Department of Migrant Workers, Department of Foreign Affairs, Department of Tourism, and Department of Trade and Industry were also present at the event.
