PH to share new pledges to UN peacekeeping in Berlin meeting

The Philippines will participate in the 2025 United Nations (UN) Peacekeeping Ministerial in Berlin, Germany, from May 13 to 14, the Department of National Defense said on Saturday.

Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro is expected to deliver a speech announcing the country’s new contributions to UN Peacekeeping, as well as present substantial pledges to further support global peace operations.

Teodoro will be joined by other member states’ defense and foreign ministers at the event.

“As a trusted partner, innovative pathfinder, and committed peacemaker, the Philippines remains steadfast in supporting UN peacekeeping reforms and initiatives to ensure more agile, inclusive, and effective peace operations in today’s evolving global security landscape,” the DND said. — Jiselle Anne Casucian/VBL, GMA Integrated News
