Marcos orders DFA, DMW to monitor deadly bus crash in NY
President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has ordered the continuous monitoring of the situation in New York, following the tourist bus crash that killed at least five persons and injured over 20 others.
According to Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and the Foreign Affairs (DFA) are already coordinating regarding the accident.
“Aware din ang Palasyo sa pangyayari at pinag utos ng Pangulo ang patuloy na pag monitor sa sitwasyon at mabigyan ang mga kababayan natin na napaaktuhan ng karampatang tulong,” she said in a mobile message to reporters.

The Van Wool Bus and Coach tourist bus, owned by M&Y Tour Inc. of Staten Island, New York, was carrying 54 passengers including the driver and the crew when it crashed on Interstate 90 while returning from Niagara Falls.
No Filipinos were among the fatalities in the tourist bus accident in Upstate New York on Friday (US time), according to police.
Police said the driver lost control of the vehicle, which rolled over several times before landing off the side of the freeway.
Injured passengers were brought to facilities such as the Erie County Medical Center, the Strong Memorial Hospital, the Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, and UMMC in Rochester.
The Philippine Consulate, for its part, in an advisory said it is “keeping in its thoughts and prayers all those impacted by the tragic bus crash…” — RF, GMA Integrated News
