Filipinos in Singapore warned vs. moonlighting

PH Embassy in Singapore advises vs. moonlighting work

The Philippine Embassy in Singapore has issued a reminder anew on the city-state's policy against working in places other than their primary employment or moonlighting.

"The Philippine Embassy reminds anew Filipinos working and living in Singapore, including Filipinos who intend to work in Singapore, that engaging with any remunerated work outside their primary employment is illegal and is subject to penalties," the embassy said in a statement.

"Moonlighting in Singapore is an offense," it added.

The foreign workers who will be caught violating the policy can be fined up to SGD 20,000 and/or serve imprisonment of up to two (2) years.

They will also risk the revocation of their passes and being barred from working in Singapore if they are caught working illegally. — BAP, GMA Integrated News
