Filipina 'cult' leader, self-proclaimed ‘Queen of Canada,’ arrested
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) arrested an alleged Filipina "cult" leader, who claims to be the “Queen of the Kingdom of Canada,” during a raid on a compound illegally occupied by her and her followers in Saskatchewan, Canada.
Romana Didulo, was doing a livestream when police forced their way into the room she occupied.
In the video, two officers in tactical gear can be seen ordering Didulo to surrender, which she peacefully did.
Aside from Didulo, sixteen of her followers were also arrested.
According to RCMP Inspector Ashley St. Germaine, the raid was conducted after authorities received reports that a group occupying the compound were armed.
“Saskatchewan RCMP executed a search warrant in Richmound, Saskatchewan. It was a privately owned decommissioned school inhabited by a group of individuals. The search warrant was obtained after we received a report that one of the occupants was in possession of a firearm. At this time, no charges have been laid. We have located and seized four replica handguns — one inside the building and three inside vehicles,” RCMP Inspector St. Germaine told reporters at a press conference.
“I can’t speak to who all of the individuals are, or if they are all associated with the ‘Kingdom of Canada,’ but Romana Didulo has identified herself as the leader of that group. I can confirm that she is in custody.”
Chaos later erupted at the police station where Didulo was brought after her followers attempted to storm the facility. Several of them were arrested.
Didulo, who was born in the Philippines, had been living with her followers in Richmound, a small community in Saskatchewan.
For the past two years, her group has thrived on her claims of sovereignty and refusal to recognize Canadian laws.
The self-proclaimed “Queen of the Kingdom of Canada” traveled with her followers to various places, urging citizens not to follow Canada’s laws and instead pledge allegiance to her so-called kingdom.
In a video message, Didulo — calling herself Commander-in-Chief of Canada — ordered the Canadian Armed Forces to open the border between Canada and the United States for a supposed “World War III operation.”
“My fellow Canadians, I address you today as your queen, commander-in-chief, and head of government. Effective immediately, I am authorizing the Kingdom of Canada’s armed forces and special forces to ensure all borders between Canada and the United States are free and clear of blockades.
This is to ensure that our militaries between the two countries can enter freely and safely at a moment’s notice to defend both nations when necessary. I encourage all Canadian citizens, and we the people of the Kingdom of Canada, to cooperate in all circumstances and ensure that our military and special forces are able to execute their orders under World War III operations.
Thank you. God bless Canada, God bless the United States, and God bless the world.”
Her organization began within the QAnon conspiracy movement and later embraced the Sovereign Citizen ideology, which rejects government authority.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police have not yet released the full list of those arrested, nor the specific charges Didulo will face, as she remains under investigation. — BAP, GMA Integrated News
