VP Sara honors OFW moms' sacrifice, strength on Mother's Day
Vice President Sara Duterte on Sunday honored the sacrifice and strength of overseas Filipino worker (OFW) mothers, who work abroad to provide for their families.
“To our OFW mothers, we know that sacrifice is not always about physical presence. Sometimes the greatest sacrifice is the distance you endure to provide for your family. Salamat sa inyong katatagan (Thank you for your strength),” Duterte said in her Mother’s Day video message.
(Let us honor the sacrifice and strength of every mother, from those who care for their families at home to the Filipinas working abroad.)
The Vice President also recognized the strength of all mothers, saying it is “one of the most challenging roles any woman can take, but it is also the most rewarding.”
(We are our children’s first teachers, their refuge in times of need, and the strong foundation of every Filipino family.)
(To all the mothers who love and care for us, thank you.)
Mother’s Day falls every second Sunday of May.
