Autopsy shows OFW slain in Kuwait died of ‘multiple, severe, traumatic’ injuries

An autopsy of the body of the Filipina worker who was allegedly killed by her own employers in Kuwait found that she died of  “multiple, severe, traumatic injuries.”

A  copy of Jeanelyn Villavende’s autopsy was released by the National Bureau of Investigation on Tuesday.

A previous autopsy conducted by a Kuwaiti hospital found that the victim died of heart and lung failure due to “shock and multiple injuries vascular nervous system [sic].”

The January 9 autopsy listed numerous injuries including contusions, abrasions, contused-abrasions, lacerated wounds, as well as wounds that were infected, healed, or were healing.

The report also showed that Villavende’s genitals similarly sustained numerous injuries like contusions or lacerations.

The Bureau of Immigration has implemented a partial deployment ban of newly-hired domestic workers to Kuwait following Villavende’s death.

The slain worker’s employers are now behind bars and awaiting the charges that will be filed against them by Kuwaiti authorities. —Julia Mari Ornedo/NB, GMA News
