Piers Morgan shouts out Filipinos working in Britain's NHS
British broadcaster Piers Morgan thanked the Filipinos working in the United Kingdom's National Health Service amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
In the program Good Morning Britain, Morgan said he did not realize that many Filipinos work in the NHS.
He said people forget about this "extraordinary workforce" who come from all over the world.
"Amazing number of Filipinos work in our NHS. Unsung heroes like so many. I just wanna give them a shoutout," he said.

Morgan also thanked other immigrants who work in the NHS, the UK's publicly funded healthcare system.
"It's worth bearing in mind when we talk about immigrants in this country, isn't it?" he said. "These are the immigrants currently saving people's lives, coming here and actually enriching our country and doing an amazing job."
As of Monday, April 6, the UK has 47,810 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 4,934 deaths.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson also tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently under intensive care.
"I hope at the end of this we have a some different sense, a different feeling about what immigration has done for this country," Morgan said.
British politics has been divided over immigration issues in recent years. The country voted to exit the European Union in 2016. --MGP, GMA News
