Filipinos abroad with COVID-19 climb to 2,233 with 669 recoveries
The number of Filipinos abroad who have tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) climbed to 2,233 on Tuesday with 38 new infections, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said.
According to the DFA, 25 more patients recovered from the virus, bringing the total recoveries to 669.
"Based on the latest figures, the total number of Filipinos who recovered from COVID-19 at 669 remains more than twice than the total fatalities and is now almost 30% of the total confirmed cases," the department said.
Meanwhile, the death toll increased to 261 with one more death.

DFA data showed that patient recoveries in the Asia Pacific region increased by one to 240 while patients undergoing treatment were recorded at 151. Fatalities, meanwhile, remained at two.
In the Middle East or Africa, the number of recoveries jumped to 68 with 18 new cases; fatalities increased to 38 with one new death; and patients undergoing treatment increased to 537.
Six more patients recovered from the virus in Europe, bringing the total to 167 while fatalities remained at 79. Patients undergoing treatment increased to 422.
Meanwhile, no new cases were reported in the Americas with recoveries remain at 194, fatalities at 142, and patients undergoing treatment at 193. —LDF, GMA News
