10 more Pinoys abroad recover from COVID-19 — DFA


Ten additional Filipinos overseas have defeated the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), bringing the total number of recoveries to 5,321, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs on Thursday.

 

 

 

The number of Filipinos abroad who contracted the respiratory illness, meanwhile, increased to 8,974 with 59 new infections. Of the number, 3,020 are undergoing treatment.

The DFA also recorded 15 new fatalities, raising the death toll to 633.

The Middle East/Africa remained the region with the most number of COVID-19 cases among Filipinos abroad at 6,483 with 363 deaths and 3,846 recoveries.

Europe still followed with 1,063 infections including 95 fatalities and 470 recoveries.

The Americas, meanwhile, has recorded 699 cases with 169 deaths and 410 recoveries.

In the Asia Pacific Region, a total of 729 Filipinos were infected with the illness. Of the number, six have died, while 595 have recovered.

“With these new developments, the DFA shall continue to keep track of the status of Filipinos abroad and stands ready to earnestly assist and facilitate repatriations, whenever possible,” the DFA said. — RSJ, GMA News
