DFA: Filipinos abroad with COVID-19 at 9,208 with 16 new infections


The number of Filipinos abroad who have tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) rose to 9,208 with 16 new infections, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

Nine more patients have recovered from the virus, bringing the total tally to 5,387 while fatalities remained at 647.

At present, there are 3,174 patients still undergoing treatment.

 

 

Based on data from the DFA, there are a total of 807 confirmed cases in the Asia and the Pacific region with 173 patients undergoing treatment, 628 recoveries, and six fatalities.

Europe has reported a total of 1,090 cases with 496 patients undergoing treatment. Total recoveries in the region were recorded at 499 while fatalities were recorded at 95.

Meanwhile, no new cases were reported in the Middle East or Africa and the Americas, according to the DFA.

In the Middle East or Africa, there were a total of 6,610 cases. Of these, there were 2,385 patients undergoing treatment, 3,850 recoveries, and 375 fatalities.

In the Americas, there were a total of 701 COVID-19 cases with 120 patients undergoing treatment, 410 recoveries, and 171 fatalities. —LDF, GMA News
