DFA: 591 more Filipinos abroad positive for COVID-19
A total of 591 more Filipinos abroad have tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), bringing the total to 12,290, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said Friday.
The DFA also announced that total recoveries climbed to 7,997 with 419 new ones while the death toll climbed to 860 with 13 new fatalities.
According to the DFA, the spike in cases are due to late reports from one country in Asia and the Pacific region.
Meanwhile, there are 3,433 patients still undergoing treatment.

Based on data from the DFA, there were a total of 2,558 cases recorded in Asia and the Pacific region with 735 patients undergoing treatment. A total of 1,802 patients in the region have recovered while 21 have died.
Meanwhile, the Middle East or Africa reported 7,547 cases with 2,330 patients undergoing treatment, 4,664 recoveries, and 553 fatalities.
In Europe, a total of 1,416 cases were reported with 309 patients undergoing treatment. A total of 1,010 patients have recovered and 97 have succumbed to the disease.
A total of 769 cases were, meanwhile, reported in the Americas with 59 patients undergoing treatment. Recoveries and fatalities in the region were recorded at 521 and 189, respectively. — RSJ, GMA News
