DFA: Filipinos abroad with COVID-19 now at 13,543
The number of Filipinos abroad who tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) rose to 13,543 on Saturday after the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) reported three new infections.
According to the DFA, ten more Filipinos also recovered from the illness, bringing the total to 8,627, while the death toll remained at 935.
Meanwhile, there are still 3,981 patients undergoing treatment.
“Compared to last week’s percentages, the total number of COVID-19 recoveries and fatalities decreased to 63.70 percent and 6.90 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, those under treatment increased to 29.40 percent,” the DFA said.
Data from the DFA also showed a total of 2,731 cases in Asia and the Pacific region with 786 patients undergoing treatment. The region reported 1,924 recoveries and 21 fatalities.
In the Middle East or Africa, 7,836 Filipinos tested positive for COVID-19 with 2,543 still undergoing treatment A total of 4,691 recovered in the region while 602 have succumbed to the illness.
A total of 2,170 cases were, meanwhile, reported in Europe with 573 patients undergoing treatment. Recoveries and fatalities in the region were recorded at 1,479 and 118, respectively.
Meanwhile, 806 cases were recorded in the Americas with 79 patients undergoing treatment. A total of 533 patients in the region recovered while 194 died. — DVM, GMA News
