Decrease in COVID-19 percentages among Filipinos abroad –DFA


There was a slight decrease in the number of COVID-19 recoveries and fatalities among Filipinos abroad compared to last week's percentages, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said Saturday.

“Compared to last week’s percentages, the total number of COVID-19 recoveries and fatalities saw a slight decrease to 62.96 percent and 6.83 percent, respectively,” the DFA said.

“Meanwhile, those under treatment increased to 30.20 percent,” it added.

According to the DFA, the total case count of Filipinos abroad with COVID-19 remained at 15,079 with 9,526 recoveries and 1,033 fatalities.

There are 4,520 Filipino nationals still undergoing treatment.

Data from the DFA showed a total of 2,936 cases in Asia and the Pacific region with 811 patients undergoing treatment. A total of 2,104 patients in the region have recovered while 21 have died.

The Middle East or Africa, meanwhile, reported 8,131 cases with 2,712 patients undergoing treatment. Recoveries and fatalities in the region were recorded at 4,755 and 664 respectively.

In Europe, a total of 3,126 Filipinos tested positive for the illness, of which 912 are still undergoing treatment, 2,086 have recovered and 128 have died.

Meanwhile, a total of 886 cases were recorded in the Americas with 85 still undergoing treatment. The region reported 581 recoveries and 220 fatalities. — DVM, GMA News
