QC university singing group wins at Singapore choral festival

A university singing group received honors from the Quezon City government for winning at an international choral festival in Singapore.
Galaw Awit Ngiti Arte Palakpak from the QC Polytechnic University (GANAP-QCPU) were honored on August 20 at a flag-raising ceremony at the Quezon City Hall for winning at the Singapore International Choral Festival 2018.
GANAP-QCPU took home three silver medals — one each under the Mixed Voices under 25 category, Folklore Open category, and Musica Sacra Open — at the competition held on July 19 to 22 at the National University of Singapore.
“This is the first time that GANAP-QCPU competed and we are lucky that in our first competition, nanalo kami. Plus, international pa ‘to kaya we are really proud,” Dr. Alexis Jan M. Patacsil, artistic director of GANAP QCPU, said.
Los Contantes de Manila and Cordillera Chamber Singers competed and won their own medals alongside GANAP-QCPU, the only theater group in the competition.
