CamSur native is first Pinoy mayor in UK

The new mayor of a charming town in West Sussex, England is proud to be Pinoy.

According to a report on GMA News TV's Quick Response Team, Danny Favor who was elected town mayor of East Grinstead was born in Camarines Sur.

The politician served the English town as councilor for three terms.

Favor said it was a huge honor to be be the first Filipino ever to be elected mayor in the United Kingdom.

His election came almost simultaneously as the mid-term elections in the Philippines. —Margaret Claire Layug/LDF, GMA News
