Filipino educator in Alaska honored for teaching kids with disabilities
NEW YORK CITY — An outstanding Filipino educator, Dale Ebcas, has been recognized by The Governor’s Council on Disabilities and Special Education in the state of Alaska for his unwavering commitment to teaching children with disabilities.
Hailing from Cagayan de Oro City, 29-year-old Ebcas has been teaching as a special education teacher in Kalskag Village, Alaska, for the past four years. He was bestowed with the prestigious "Individual of the Year Award for Special Education in Inclusive Practices."
Ebcas, also actively serving as the Unified Sports Coordinator for the Special Olympics, oversees students competing in national tournaments. His dedication to inclusive education and advocacy for students with disabilities has earned him accolades and respect within the community.
