“Snake Boxer" and “Vet on a Mission"
This September, Born to be Wild presents its latest series featuring two of the fiercest reptiles on the planet. Kiko is back in Thailand to film a community called âcobra village". From Bangkok, Kiko travels eight hours to the northern part of Thailand to witness how these venomous snakes are used in shows. Local residents attract visitors as they put up fist fights with these snakes. It is a constant deadly dance for these snake boxers, but this show is only the beginning of many discoveries awaiting the team in this small village. Join Kiko as he witnesses the dangers the snake boxers face, and the unusual relationship the villagers have with this venomous creature. For almost two decades, Doc Nielsen Donato has responded to hundreds of cases of animals in distress. This time on BORN TO BE WILD, Doc Nielsen embarks on a medical mission in the wild forests of Aurora. But the mission turns into the discovery of illegal wildlife trade in the area. What looks like an ordinary household was found out to be holding three butaans, an endemic species of monitor lizard filmed by the Born to be Wild team in Aurora a year ago. But thereâs a bigger surprise in store â the large âdragon" which Doc Ferds and his team sought to document in the forests of Isabela last year was found in the hands of another local, ready to be traded. This is the elusive varanus bitatawa, a newly discovered species of reptile that made headlines last year. Faced with threats to this endemic wildlife, what will Doc Nielsen do? Find out on REPTILES, the Born to be Wild series beginning September 7.
