After days of observation it’s time for Doc Nielsen and his team, together with RITM expert Romy Brazal, to extract venom from the walo-walo or sea kraits in Masbate. This venom will be a baseline for studies as no sea snake anti-venom is currently available in the Philippines.  Sea kraits are known to be docile but deadly. Left untreated, a snake bite victim can die in thirty minutes. This is why Doc Nielsen needs to be extra careful in handling these snakes. Will the team be successful?

Doc Ferds Recio has proven that indeed, Zambales is a habitat for the reticulated python. But he also discovers that other snake species thrive in the area.  Vine snakes and bamboo vipers are just some of the snakes documented by the team. But locals fear the snakes and believe that pythons are venomous. Doc Ferds’ mission is to show the locals how pythons can be more beneficial to them as local tour guides.

Catch Part III of the snake series on "Born to be Wild" this Wednesday after Saksi!
