'Reptile Kingdom' series premieres this Sunday on 'Born to be Wild'

REPTILE KINGDOM
A 'Born to be Wild' special series premieres Sunday, July 1

Reptiles are among the oldest animals in the world.  They are known to be resilient creatures and have stood the test of time and the changing environment. But today, many of them are under threat of extinction. This July, explore the world of reptiles and understand the struggles of their population as they face habitat loss, climate change and the illegal wildlife trade.

In the opening salvo of 'Reptile Kingdom,' join Doc Ferds as he travels to Misamis Oriental to visit the Philippine sailfin lizards. Here, a local family looks after at least a hundred sailfin lizards that strayed into their backyard. This river area which has served as a home to the sailfins will soon be turned into a critical habitat. Here, Doc Ferds and his team witness a rare sight: a Philippine sailfin lizard’s nest.

In some forests in the Visayas, locals say there are dragons to be found. Doc Nielsen visits Negros Occidental to look for the elusive creature and comes face to face with the Negros forest dragon.
