Endemic pangolin and endangered sea turtles on 'Born to be Wild'

BORN TO BE WILD
September 22, 2019

Doc Nielsen rescues wild animals found in the unlikeliest of places. In Metro Manila, he encounters an endemic pangolin inside a residential bathroom. Locals say they saw the pangolin roaming their streets at night. They researched and, upon finding out that the animal is endangered, sent a message to the Born to be Wild team. In another case, Doc Nielsen’s supposed diving adventure became a rescue mission when a monitor lizard was seen trapped in an old water tank inside a dive resort.

In Misamis Oriental, Doc Ferds visits a community where endangered sea turtles thrive and hatch. Locals are tasked by the DENR to protect and tag the turtles for identification. The team joins the locals and documents their efforts. Doc Ferds meets “Amang”, a local who has pledged to save the turtles.
