‘Tustusak’ and ‘ummoki’ on ‘Born to be Wild’

BORN TO BE WILD

“Tustusak” and “Ummoki”
The tustusak or mudskipper is a type of fish that can live both on land and in water. They are found in muddy areas where they can be seen basking, playing, and looking for food. Born to be Wild films their curious behavior while looking for their mate.
Mudskippers are also called bioindicators because they live in clean mangrove areas. But when Doc Ferds visits a site where mudskippers are known to thrive, he discovers that the place is surrounded by garbage. Are the mudskippers adapting to their environment in order to survive? And while these creatures are doing all they can to live in an increasingly polluted ecosystem, are humans doing enough to protect their habitat?

In the lush forests of Mindanao, Doc Nielsen searches for the ummoki or the Worcester’s bush frog. This species of frog is endemic to Mindanao and is difficult to spot in the wild. This frog has only been recorded in a few mountain localities in the South. But once you spot an ummoki, its colorful features are an immediate stand-out.
Doc Nielsen tries his luck to meet the ummoki, will he find it?
