Philippine Agenda: Crime

Episode airs May 6, 2007 Mishandled murder weapons and contaminated crime scenes are only some realities that illustrate what appears to be a poor crime-solving system in the country. Lacking high quality forensics equipment, crime scene investigators find it difficult to get to the bottom of each case. But places that have even the most low-tech “CSI" should consider themselves lucky, as many other places in the country still struggle with crime, in the absence of crime scene investigation units. Meanwhile, jails continue to get more and more congested as crime suspects pile up in the cells. While the victim and the accused await justice, dusty case files accumulate in our trial courts. So long does it take to resolve each case that some inmates remain in prison much longer than even the maximum penalties for the crimes they are accused of. This Sunday, Arnold Clavio investigates the problem of Crime in the country, and tackles the issues surrounding the judicial system. Don’t miss Philippine Agenda, airing this Sunday, at seven o’ clock in the evening on GMA 7.
