Lastly, get to know Charo Ronquillo, a New York based Filipina model who won 3rd place in the prestigious Ford Supermodel of the World competition because of her “exotic" look. Despite the rising popularity of our skin color, a recent survey revealed that 4 out of 10 Filipino women in the Philippines still prefer to have a whiter complexion. Host Miriam Quiambao presents the different ways that Filipinos use to achieve a fairer skin -- from using cheap glutathione soap bars in Divisoria to the expensive skin whitening procedures of well-known medical groups in the country.
