'Sisid:' The unexpected tales of the sea

More than seven thousand islands make up our vast archipelago, and yet little is known about what lies beneath our seas. A deep dive will reveal an entirely different world just waiting to be explored.



This summer, GMA Public Affairs takes the plunge with Sisid, a GMA News and Public Affairs Special hosted by Howie Severino, Susan Enriquez, Miriam Quiambao and Doc Ferds Recio. Together, they break the water’s surface to bring forth amazing and unexpected tales under the sea.

Sisid reveals the country’s countless marine marvels. Tubbataha Reef, off the coast of thePalawan Islands, is nominated as one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature. Miriam Quiambao and Doc Ferds Recio explore Tubbataha’s giant corals and underwater species to showcase thePhilippines’s pride.

Susan Enriquez goes reef walking in the world-famous beaches of Boracay, and Howie Severino Howie Severino looks back on one of the biggest sea disasters in the country. He delves deep into the sunken ship, Dona Marilyn, which claimed the lives of 500 people twenty years ago. Together with a survivor, Howie recounts the stories of those whose lives were changed by this tragedy of the sea.
