How can we have a lucky or auspicious Christmas tree?

If you want to maximize your holiday fortune then don’t simply put up a Christmas tree, instead, follow these tips!
- Direction, direction, direction
Master Hanz says that you should place your Christmas tree at the north, northeast, east and southwest direction of your home because these are considered to be the lucky directions for the year of 2015. Also, remember not to place your Christmas tree under the stairs of your home because that signifies that you’re suppressing the growth that it could bring to your family.
- Size matters
Master Hanz says that your Christmas tree must be taller than the tallest person in your home so that it could bring even more growth for the family. Also, the Christmas tree must be wide in size because this signifies prosperity and good fortune.
- Elements
Master Hanz says that one’s Christmas tree must have the five elements present on it and those are: wood, metal, fire, earth and water elements.
- The color for wood element is green so this would be the tree itself.
- The colors for metal element are gold, silver and gray which signify money.
- The colors for fire are yellow, orange and pink which signify passion, desire and love for the family.
- The symbol for earth element are the crystal decorations which signify stability for the family.
- And the colors for water elements are blue, black and purple which signify continuous flow of good fortune for the family.
What are the lucky gifts to give this Christmas?

Want to spread the luck this Christmas? Then give away these items!
- 2016: Year of the fire monkey
Master Hanz says says that it is good to give monkey charms and figurines to your loved ones this holiday season because it could bring them prosperity and success.
- Fruits
Master Hanz says that it’s also good to give fruits as gifts not just because it’s healthy but because of the fortune that it could bring to the recipient. For example:
- Apples can bring harmony among family members.
- Orange can bring in money.
- Grapes can attract luxurious items.
- And mango can bring sweetness among the family members.
- Combi Trio rule
Master Hanz says that you could also use the combi trio zodiac signs as a guide to what gifts you could give this Christmas. These three zodiac signs are said to go well with each other.
For people who are born in the:
- Year of the rat, you could give dragon or monkey charms/ figurines.
- Year of the ox, you could give snake or rooster charms/ figurines.
- Year of the bore, you could give rabbit or goat charms/ figurines.
- Year of the dog, you could give tiger or horse charms/ figurines.
But remember not to give a monkey sign to someone who’s born on year of the tiger because these two zodiacs are opponents, therefore it could bring misfortune in the coming year.
Also, Master Hanz says that the most important factor when giving out these gifts is your intention for the person you’re giving to.
What are the gifts we should avoid giving this Christmas?

If there gifts that we give this Christmas, there are also ones that we should refrain from giving like:
- Scissors and knives
Master Hanz says that when we give these items as gifts, it symbolizes that we’re cutting our relationship with that person.
- Watches
According to Master Hanz, this means that we’re timing or limiting our relationship with the person we’re giving it to.
- Shoes
Master Hanz says that if you give shoes to someone then that person might drift away from you or might step on you in the future.
But if someone gives you a watch or a pair of shoes this Christmas then you can give them a coin which signifies an exchange of energy to avoid the bad fortune that comes with the item.
How can we prepare our Noche Buena to invite positive vibes or good fortune?

According to Master Hanz:
- Noodles, pancit bihon, and even macaroni are said to bring long life and good health.
- Quezo de bola, having a circular shape, symbolizes luxury and money.
- Lechon or pork also symbolizes luxury and prosperity.
- Fish symbolizes abundance and are said to help you save money every year.
- While chicken symbolizes luxury and prosperity. Other people say chicken symbolizes ‘isang kahig, isang tuka’ but Master Hanz says otherwise. He says to just make sure to serve this in abundance and not in small portions.
At the end of the day, whether we believe in these practices or not, Master Hanz Cua says that what’s important is we’re together with our families as we celebrate the holiday season to strengthen our bond with them. Merry Christmas, everyone!---BMS/ GMA Public Affairs
