Following the imminent closure of one of the most famous beaches in the world, Boracay, due to environmental law violations, other summer destinations are now under the scrutiny of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources for illegal infrastructure, improper waste management, and violations of the clean water act.

Just recently, it was reported that Puerto Galera in Oriental Mindoro is next to be issued a warning because of alleged high level of coliform contamination in their waters.

Jay Taruc and his I-Witness team examine the cramped spaces of Barangays Sabang and San Isidro and found some disturbing sights along the shoreline --- open sewer and pipes draining liquid waste into seawaters. Apparently, this problem has been going on for more than a decade now but no solution has been implemented as businesses continue to flourish.

Now, the local government is racing against time to restore the beach to its former glory.
