GMA News and Public Affairs tests senatorial candidates’ 'Paninindigan'
Paninindigan
Airing Dates: Part 1 on March 31 | Part 2 on April 7
10 PM after Imbestigador on GMA-7
As the mid-term election is fast approaching, the electorate is bombarded with various programs introducing this and that candidate, having them grilled by experts and representatives from different sectors. GMA News and Public Affairs chooses to deviate from this usual format with its two-part special, Paninindigan, airing on March 31 and April 7.
What does a candidate believe in? What is his stand on the country’s most pressing and crucial issues? What can be expected from him as a public servant and how firmly will he stand by his promises during the campaign period? These are just some of the questions that the senatorial candidates must face as they declare their commitment to the voting public.
Hosted by award-winning broadcast journalist Mike Enriquez, Paninindigan’s first episode this Sunday pits one candidate with another, letting them question each other’s opinions on crucial national issues confronting them as possible senators of the country. The first batch of candidates feature Atty. Samson Alcantara, Bam Aquino, Greco Belgica, Sen. Chiz Escudero, Baldomero Falcone, Dick Gordon, Risa Hontiveros, Atty. Marwil Llasos, former senator Jun Magsaysay, retired general Ramon Montaño, and Sen. Koko Pimentel.
As the candidates' Paninindigan will will be put on record, the public can hold them to their word should they be elected to the Senate.
Airing for two consecutive Sundays, the first part of Paninindigan will be seen on March 31 after Imbestigador on GMA-7. The second part, hosted by Mel Tiangco, airs a week after on April 7.
