Favorite Pinoy egg desserts, ihahain sa 'Pinas Sarap'

Save the best for last! Ang kainang Pinoy hindi raw kumpleto kapag walang sweet ending kaya present lagi ang panghimagas. Ngayong Huwebes samahan si Kara David na tikman ang ilan sa ipinagmamalaki nating panghimagas na pinasarap ng itlog!

Sa isang poultry farm sa Rodriguez Rizal, hindi raw bababa sa 60,000 ang itlog na nakukuha araw-araw. Dito masusubukan ni Kara manguha ng itlog. Karaniwang ibinebenta ang mga itlog pero kapag may crack na ang mga ito, pwede pa rin itong mapakinabangan. Dahil ang mga itlog na hindi na maibebenta, ginagawang matamis na paborito nating mga Pinoy – ang Leche Flan! Garantisadong malinamnam ang leche flan dahil ang mga itlog, fresh from the farm!

Gawa ang leche flan sa fresh milk, condensed milk, asukal at egg yolk o pula ng itlog. Pero kung gusto niyo naman ng pambalanse sa tamis ng leche flan, tikman ang puto flan! Ang leche flan pinapatungan sa puto na may iba’t ibang flavors gaya ng Pandan, Strawberry at Mocha!
Pero kung ang trip niyo naman ay sweetness overload, para sa inyo ang floating island cake! Gawa ito sa pinagpatong-patong na ube halaya, leche flan at brazo de Mercedes!

Siyempre kapag matamis ang pag-uusapan, hindi rin pahuhuli ang paborito ng mga bata – ang yema candy! Gawa naman ang yema sa egg yolk at condensed milk. Pero ang yema hindi na lang candy, pwede na ring toppings sa cake! Bibisitahin ni Kara ang isa sa kilalang gumagawa ng masarap na yema cake – ang Remilly’s!

Matitikman din ang mga ipinagmamalaking matamis ng Pampanga, ang Tocino del cielo, plantanillas at brazo de mais!

Save the best for last! They say to us Pinoys a meal ain't complete without a sweet ending, a yummy dessert. This Thursday, join Kara David as samples some of our more popular desserts with egg as its main ingredient.
In a poultry farm in Rodriguez, Rizal, no less than 60,000 eggs are collected every day. Even eggs with a crack can still be sold - to desser makers - who add them to such well-loved desserts as leche flan which are yummiest when made with fresh farm eggs!
Leche flan is made with fresh milk, condensed milk, sugar and egg yolk. You can also try the puto flan, if you prefer your dessert a little less sweet, where a dollop of leche flan is used as a topping for rice cakes of various flavors like pandan, ube, strawberry, and mocha!
You might also want to try a sliver of floating island cake if you feel like eating a super sweet dessert. This cake is made of layers of yam, leche flan and brazo de Mercedes.
but the children’s hands-down favorite should be yema candy! This is made of egg yolk and condensed milk. But yema is no longer just a candy, it is now also used as icing on a cake. In this week's episode,Kara visits Remilly’s, a well-known yema cake maker.
Tocino del cielo, plantanillas and brazo de mais are some of Pampanga’s signature sweets made with egg.
