Unang Hirit sa Monaco

Majestic Monaco is Unang Hirit’s second destination in its  live special coverage in Europe.

What’s sweeter than Monaco’s royal beauty is Unang Hirit’s nomination in the prestigious 58th Monte-Carlo TV Festival for its entry in the Live Breaking News category: the coverage of the Resorts World Manila attack last June 2017.

Connie Sison, together with Unang Balita’s Senior Program Manager Queenie Dimapawi, graced the red carpet along with famous TV and News personalities throughout the globe.

The award, the Golden Nymph eventually went to BBC News’  “Zimbabwe.” Despite this, Unang Hirit enjoys the honor of being the only Philippine finalist in the world-class competition.

"To be nominated alongside huge international TV networks is such an honor for Unang Hirit. This will serve as inspiration for us to continue doing our best in serving the Filipino people," said Sison.

Other nominees in the festival include Russia's RT coverage entitled “#MosulSOS,” United Kingdom Sky News’ “Grenfell Tower Fire,” and Al Jazeera English’s “Qatar Blockade.”

After representing the Philippines in the festival, the country's favorite morning show continued to take the audience on its European tour in the world’s second smallest country.

Unang Hirit witnessed the changing of guards ceremony at the Prince’s Palace, the official residence of Prince Albert II.

The team also visited the magnificent Notre Dame of Monaco and the amazing Oceanographic Museum.

Filipinos are indeed all over the world, and Unang Hirit did not miss the chance to meet a few of our kababayan in Monaco to deliver a few tatak-Pinoy pasalubong.

Tomorrow until June 22, the Unang Hirit team will travel back to Paris to continue to showcase the City of Lights’ grandeur.
