#UH20: A presidential interview, K-surprises, and grand prizes
Two decades of Serbisyong Totoo!
Such feat highlights the week-long celebration of Unang Hirit’s 20th anniversary—along with daily surprises that showcase why it has become the No. 1 morning show in the country.
Broadcasting in-depth interviews with the most prominent newsmakers is an Unang Hirit trademark, so it comes as no surprise that to kickoff its anniversary celebration, UH visits the main man in Malacañang: President Rodrigo Roa Duterte. It’s an interview that’s the first of its kind in Philippine morning television history.

Just in time for the holidays, hosts Arnold Clavio and Susan Enriquez went caroling at the Palace, where they were warmly greeted by Pres. Duterte for his “sing-terview.” Taking the stand, he serenades viewers with his favorite love song “Ikaw.”
Just like with his singing, Pres. Duterte gamely answers Igan and Susan’s questions about pressing topic, such as the SEA Games controversy; the recent axing of Vice President Leni Robredo; China’s alleged interference with the country’s power supply; and even the maintenance medicines he’s taking.
Unang Hirit also launched one of its biggest surprises —a competition wherein one lucky viewer will win a brand new house and lot! To return the love and support it has received from viewers who have welcomed the show into their homes for the past 20 years, Unang Hirit now gives its audience the chance to win their dream home! The contest is open to all loyal UH viewers. You just need to answer this question: “Bakit gusto mong humirit ng bagong bahay at lupa para sa’yo o sa iyong niminado sa 2020?”

Participants can send their entries online or through dropbox. Visit the official Facebook page of Unang Hirit to view the contest’s complete mechanics.
The show also brings Kapuso viewers to one of Pinoys’ favorite travel destinations---Korea! Donning the Hanbok, Mariz Umali and Joyce Pring report live from the Korean Folk Village, both women looking radiant in the nation’s traditional dress , which is worn during special occasions such as festivals and ceremonies.

Today, familiar faces also return to Unang Hirit, as the show does a “throwback” of its past hosts. One of its original hosts since it first aired in December 1999 graces the show today—no other than Miss Universe 1999 first runner-up, Miriam Quiambao. Pia Arcangel also joins today’s Unang Balita, together with the one and only “Boy Traffic” of UH, Oscar Oida. This day also reunites viewers to the most loved morning puppet and Igan’s alter ego, Arn-Arn.

Staying true to its promise to deliver “Serbisyong Totoo,” Unang Hirit continues to provide its audience today with the freshest and most important news surrounding Bagyong Tisoy, so that Filipinos can say “IM Ready” in the face of the incoming typhoon, especially those living in areas expected to br most affected by the storm, such as Bicol Region and other parts of Southern Luzon, including Metro Manila.
