Tweets resurrect Jackie Chan's 'death'

Is Hong Kong-based superstar Jackie Chan “dead again," as rumored on Twitter? The camp of Chan on Thursday denied the resurrected reports on the actor’s death. He was already rumored to have died of a heart attack in March. “Jackie is alive and well and working hard on his next movie! Don't believe the latest death rumors," said a post on Chan’s verified Facebook page. Several Twitter users meanwhile took the new death rumors with a grain of salt. “RIP Jackie Chan who died last March and now in August. Stay tuned. He will probably die again by January," Twitter user @dezsta said. “Jackie Chan dies at least once a month," user @ISelenaSuperman tweeted. “He must be the master of resurrection!" The revived buzz on Chan’s rumored death is also prominent on GMA News Online’s analytics. The news website’s story on his first rumored death, which was published five months ago, ascended anew on the list of GMA News Online’s top stories. It is now the site’s second most read topic. With social media making it easy for users to spread unverified information, GMA News Online reminds netizens to use these media responsibly in disseminating news. — VS, GMA News
