Google releases translator for Google+
Users of Googleâs upcoming social network Google+ can now have the posts of friends from other countries translated almost instantly, with a new translator tool from the search giant. The "Google Translate for Google+" is an extension on Googleâs Chrome browser, and translate Google+ streams using integrated, inline, Google Translate support. Notes on the new toolâs page indicated the Google Chrome extension can access a Google+ userâs data on plus.google.com; as well as the userâs tabs and browsing activity. Its supported languages so far include Indonesian, German, English, Filipino, French, Vietnamese, Spanish, Italian, Polish, and Romanian. A separate article on tech site TheNextWeb said a user can translate a Google+ post just by clicking the inline âTranslate" button directly below each post. Doing so will translate and highlight the text. The button will change to a âShow Original" option to allow a user to revert it back. TheNextWeb said some options allow a user to choose which language to translate the post into. But it said the extension does not allow a user to translate comments. âHopefully that will get added to a future version of the plugin or Google will just roll this functionality right into Google+," it said. â RSJ, GMA News
