Microsoft's latest mobile software platform now in RP

Microsoft said Tuesday that Windows Mobile 6, the latest version of its mobile software platform, is now available in the Philippines. The software giant said Windows Mobile 6 has improved functionality and added support for Microsoft Office features previously available only on PCs. The company said the software allows users to meet business needs and do more even while on the go. "In a fast-paced, digital world, having access to information and digital content right at our fingertips is essential for business success. With Windows Mobile 6, Microsoft is providing users with innovative mobile technologies that offer mobility and connectivity to make life simpler, more convenient and more productive," said Microsoft Philippines senior product manager Jojo Ayson. Windows Mobile 6’s enhanced user interface lets users view e-mail in the original HTML format with live links and access to Microsoft products such as SharePoint sites and Exchange Server 2007. The software platform also includes Windows Live for Windows Mobile, which provides customers with a rich set of Windows Live services – chatting with more than one person at one time, use animated figures, quickly sending a file or image, or recording and sending voice notes. All Windows Mobile 6-powered devices include Direct Push Technology for up-to-date e-mail delivery and automatic synchronization of Outlook calendars, tasks and contacts through Microsoft Exchange Server. It also offers device security and management features that include the capability to remotely wipe all data from a device should it be lost or stolen. -GMANews.TV
