Another phreatic eruption recorded on Mayon

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) on Tuesday said another phreatic eruption was recorded in Mayon Volcano, following two similar eruptions the previous day.

On its website, Phivolcs said Tuesday's phreatic eruption was recorded at 5:33 a.m.

"At 05:33 AM today, another phreatic eruption event was observed. These events generated grayish to grayish white ash plumes that rose 300 to 500 meters above the summit before drifting southwest," Phivolcs said.

It added that a "faint crater glow" can be observed from the volcano's summit at night.
