Magnitude 5.1 quake jolts Santiago, Agusan del Norte

A magnitude 5.1 earthquake struck southeast of Santiago, Agusan del Norte early Friday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported.
The earthquake occurred at 12:04 a.m., tectonic in origin with a depth of 13 kilometers.
The earthquake was felt in several areas:
- Intensity IV - Santiago, Jabonga, and City of Cabadbaran, Agusan del Norte
- Intensity III - Talacogon, Agusan del Sur
- Intensity II - Lanuza, Surigao del Sur
- Intensity I - Guinsiliban, Camiguin
The PHIVOLCS said that damage and aftershocks are expected.
The agency earlier reported that the earthquake occurred southwest of Madrid, Surigao del Sur with a depth of 66 kilometers. -- BAP, GMA Integrated News
