Global media agency to launch digital offering

MANILA, Philippines - Mindshare Philippines, a leading global media agency, will launch its digital offering in the country on Wednesday. The launch aims to help brands and marketers "harness the power of emerging digital media in communications and lead the transformation of media practice in the digital age," a media statement said. "There’s still a huge gap between marketers’ understanding and adoption of digital media and the high consumption of digital media among consumers," said Bunny Aguilar, the company's general manager. "Our vision for MindShare is to help bridge that gap and help marketers make the most out of digital media to connect with consumers," Aguilar added. Wednesday's event will highlight MindShare’s digital capabilities, including its landmark local research initiative called MindTrack, a tracking software installed in select internet cafes that records the different sites surfers visit. “In the absence of a local net rating system, Mindshare developed a web monitoring system that taps the internet cafes," April Yap, Mindshare Insights director. "We picked internet cafes since most Filipinos access the net through this channel. In the future, we can use this for consumer panels suited to our Client’s needs and not just limited to internet cafes," she said. The launch will also present MindShare’s leading technological partners like Eyeblaster for rich media advertising, and top internet sites like Yahoo, GMA New Media, Businessworld online, and Summit Digital. Crisela Magpayo, director for Digital Practice said: “We want to use the event as a venue for clients to experience the power of digital media that goes beyond just sticking ads online." "Our belief is digital media, because of its interactivity, can create valuable experiences for consumers in a way that traditional media can’t. It’s important for marketers to consider it as part of their current media mix," she added. - GMANews.TV
