PLDT's fiber optic service in Visayas, Mindanao disrupted - report

MANILA, Philippines - The digital fiber optic network of the Philippine Long Distance Company (PLDT) for the Visayas and Mindanao regions has been damaged, Sun.Star online reported Wednesday. According to the report, the damaged optic network has caused outage in cell phone and Internet services. Sun.Star said Smart Communications services, including its wireless service Smart Bro, were also disrupted due to the fiber optic line break. Due to the disruption, companies in the regions, including banks and government agencies, have temporarily suspended transactions, according to the Sun.Star report. - GMANews.TV
