NBI looks into Iloilo 'escort service' Web site

MANILA, Philippines - The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has started its investigation into a Web site offering "escort services" featuring girls from Iloilo province. Radio dzBB's Iloilo affiliate on Tuesday reported that the NBI's Western Visayas regional office is trying to traace the operators of the Web site, which went offline last weekend. NBI computer experts said their work stemmed from a request from Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas, who was outraged over the "short-lived" Web site (www.mesalinaescorts.com). Iloilo-based online news site The News Today (www.thenewstoday.info) reported that the "exotic tourism" site had been taken down since Friday last week. While it was online, it offered to book the services of "first-class, high-class" Ilongga escorts, some of whom reportedly posed naked on the Web site. A check of the site now redirects visitors to the "parking page" of the pre-seller's domain. - GMANews.TV
