LOOK: Is that Pluto the dog on Pluto the planet?
It appears a geological formation on Pluto the planet could indeed look like Pluto – Disney's dog character.

A report on Mashable said Amanda Zangari, a scientist working with the New Horizons team, was among those who spotted the geological formation.
The formation on the photo taken by New Horizons last July 11 appears to resemble "two ears, two eyes, a nose and even the tongue" of Pluto the Disney character, Mashable added.
Tech site The Verge cited Twitter users who did notice the geological formation resembling the lovable Disney dog.
"Well, I suppose *someone* had to do it eventually..." said Planetary Society outreach coordinator Kayle Hansen.

New Horizons made its closest approach to Pluto Tuesday night.
New Horizons deputy project scientist Leslie Young told Mashable said they expect to know what the "Pluto the dog" formations are made out of "in a few days."
Young added they are getting color and composition data at geological scales and may soon be able to see mesas, cliffs, and basins.
Mashable said Pluto's face is not the only "fun" face on Pluto's surface. Others include what appeared to be a heart-shaped bright region and a dark "whale's tail." — Joel Locsin/LBG, GMA News
