‘An Inconvenient Truth’ gets ‘An Inconvenient Sequel’ –and here’s the trailer
Despite repeated warnings from scientists all over the world, some people simply refuse to acknowledge the threats of global warming.
Because apparently, we need to be reminded over and over again about this problem, the enterprising people behind the 2006 documentary, “An Inconvenient Truth,” have seen fit to create a sequel called “An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power.” You can watch the trailer below.
The trailer includes alarming footage of climate change at work, but also offers hope in the form of new technologies designed to curtail the environmental problems bombarding the planet.
The sequel will once again star the 45th Vice President of the United States, Al Gore. It will detail the progress we’ve made in combatting global warming, and show Gore’s continued efforts to convince government leaders around the world to invest in solutions to the problem.
The documentary also takes President Donald Trump to task for his refusal to acknowledge scientific claims and findings about global warming. Just recently, Trump played a key role in the dismantling of several climate change policies, which earned him the ire of 23 states, local governments, and a number of environmental groups.
The official synopsis for “An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power” reads:
“A decade after AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH brought climate change into the heart of popular culture, comes the riveting and rousing follow-up that shows just how close we are to a real energy revolution. Vice President Al Gore continues his tireless fight traveling around the world training an army of climate champions and influencing international climate policy. Cameras follow him behind the scenes – in moments both private and public, funny and poignant – as he pursues the inspirational idea that while the stakes have never been higher, the perils of climate change can be overcome with human ingenuity and passion.”
