Magnitude 5.4 earthquake recorded offshore Cagayan —PHIVOLCS

A magnitude 5.4 earthquake was recorded offshore Cagayan at noontime on Sunday afternoon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) said. 

The quake occurred at 12:36 p.m.

Its epicenter was located at 19.17°N, 121.07°E - 016 km N 64° W of Dalupiri Island in the municipality of Calayan.

The tectonic earthquake had a depth of 36 kilometers.

Intensity V was felt in Calayan.

Intensity IV was felt in Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte, and Intensity II in Paoay, also in Ilocos Norte.

PHIVOLCS said no damage is expected but aftershocks may occur. —KG, GMA News
