Magnitude 6.2 earthquake jolts Davao Oriental


A magnitude 6.2 earthquake rocked Manay, Davao Oriental on Tuesday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) said.

The earthquake, tectonic in origin, occurred at 9:23 a.m.

The quake's epicenter was located at 07.09°N, 127.04°E - 057 km S 77° east of Manay.

PHIVOLCS said the quake had a depth of 018 kilometers.

Intensity IV was felt in Manay, Mati City, Tarragona, and Lupon, Davao Oriental; Hinatuan, Surigao Del Sur; Mati City; Bislig City

Intensity III was felt in Don Marcelino, Davao Occidental; Cateel and Baganga, Davao Oriental; Tandag City, Surigao Del Sur; Davao City; Malungon, Sarangani; Maco, Maragusan, Monkayo, Nabunturan and New Bataan, Davao de Oro

Intensity II was felt in Bansalan, Davao Del Sur

Intensity I was felt in Matalam and Kidapawan City, Cotabato; Columbio, Sultan Kudarat; Malapatan, Sarangani
