Magnitude 5.6 earthquake recorded offshore Sultan Kudarat


An earthquake measuring magnitude 5.6 was recorded offshore Sultan Kudarat on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).

The tectonic quake occurred at 1:24 p.m., it added.

Its epicenter was located at 06.72°N, 123.75°E - 036 km N 75° W of the municipality of Lebak.

Intensity III was felt in Cotabato City.

Intensity II on the other hand was felt in General Santos City, and Intensity I in Zamboanga City.

PHIVOLCS said no damage is expected but aftershocks may occur. —KG, GMA News
